Who is Ed Latimore (@EdLatimore)?

The guy’s got a true American rags-to-riches story.
The guy grew up dirt poor, in a ghetto. Living next to a crack dealer. Ended up working at a retail store for $10/hr at 27 years old. Felt like a complete failure.
Then he turned his life around. Stopped drinking (that in itself is impressive!). Went to the army. Learned how to make money online. Affiliate marketing. And finally, learned how to explode his twitter following to…63,000, as of this writing (Feb 2019)??? How many people can say they got that many Twitter followers?
Quick side note: wallstreetplayboys.com is a great blog about how to make money. You should read them. And if they follow/recommend someone…that is high praise.
There’s one more thing I have to talk about. His Twitter. I always look at a guy’s Twitter. The Twitter tells me far more about a guy than his Linkedin profile.
While most of the Twitter accounts I follow are usually about advice or tips (known colloquially in SideHustleTwitter as “sauce”), this guy’s Twitter is about pump-up, motivational talk.
Here’s a funny one:
Every now and then, EdLatimore tweets something really insightful about his past. EdLatimore’s Twitter is basically the Hustler’s Twitter. He knows how to pump you up.
Can his book really help? Supposedly his e-book will help you gain lots of Twitter followers. Can he really do it? Well you can vet his Twitter account. It’s the real thing. Cliffnotes version: he doesn’t fake anything. His own tweets summarizes it best:
Bottom line is, the author has a really inspirational story and an awesome Twitter.
Who should buy Ed Latimore’s “Engagement is the New Cocaine” E-Book
- You plan to use Twitter to promote your personal brand — similar to Instagram influencers, there are businesses out there who pay good money for you to make a promotional retweet or tweet.
- You plan to use Twitter to promote your business — particularly if you run an information business like Stratechery. The author of Stratechery has said that his biggest traffic source was not Facebook, not Pinterest, but Twitter. That’s because Twitter is for people who love to read. And if you’re a blogger, guess you better up your Twitter game!

- You plan to use Twitter to promote an email list —the book teaches you how to design your profile to promote your email list. And how to design tweets to promote your email list.
Who should NOT buy Ed Latimore’s “Engagement is the New Cocaine” E-Book
- You do not plan to tweet on at least a daily basis — at a minimum, need to post often so that followers find value in your Twitter account.
- You do not have a Twitter —then you’re a weird guy for reading a review on a how-to guide for Twitter! Lol.
- You are a hermit who likes to live under a rock with no internet, or electricity — haha, can’t argue with whatever makes you happy.
All kidding aside, the quick summary is that if your goal is to increase your Twitter followers, you should get the book. That’s it.

Things I LIKE about Ed Latimore’s “Engagement is the New Cocaine” E-Book
- A lot of actionable content — pump-up talk is great, but only way to make your life better is to take action.
- Quick results — within 24 hours, you should be able to see immediate results. It’s just a tweet, after all. There should be more likes, more retweets, more comments.
- Some copywriting tricks/tips — No surprise, a lot of the skill that goes into crafting a good tweet is going to go into crafting good copy. For instance, using the sentence structure like so:
How could the book be improved?
- A little short — it’s true that the book is a little short at 37 pages. Most proper books are at least 120 pages in length. On the positive side, it means you can read this e-book really quickly and get right to applying the tips. Which is where the true value of a book lies.
- Misses some monetization methods — like affiliate marketing via your Twitter account.
Is “Engagement Is The New Cocaine” eBook Worth it?
I personally read 100+ books every year. I think it’s fun, and they’re a great investment too.
Two relevant quotes. One quote from a long time ago, and another quote from the internet age.
An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. ~Ben Franklin.
Quick side note: the “WallStreetPlayboys” twitter account is one of the highest value Twitter accounts I followed in 2018.
What’s the bottom line?
If you take ONE action item away from Ed Latimore’s “Engagement is the New Cocaine” E-Book, it is worth way more than $47.
Wayyyy more.
So, look, I don’t know your situation, but if you’re struggling with your Twitter, $47 is worth a shot.

Some last minute inspiration…
I was about to wrap up this review when I just had some inspirational thoughts.
You know, you only need a few hundred to a few thousand Twitter followers…
With just that, you can make a side income affiliate marketing.
And break free from the 9–5 job. From jealous, gossipy co-workers. From a boss. Go anywhere in the world you like.

P.S. Drop any questions in the comments and I’ll respond 🙂
